Mike Bourne – Swim Coach

Mike joined Alioth as our first and only Swim Coach after training at the gym for a number of years beforehand and coaching a number of Alioth members and athletes, he launched Alioth Swim Club.

Mike is a former professional water polo player for Great Britain and England, playing internationally in multiple leagues in Australia, Holland, Spain and the UK. After winning a Gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, he moved to Dubai to pursue his coaching career.

He has multiple years of coaching experience in strength + conditioning; working with a variety of different levels of fitness, from general population, teens, people of determination and professional athletes. With a passion for fitness and being in the water, Mike loves each opportunity to help others to learn to swim and overcome barriers concerning their fitness goals. He thinks swimming is a life skill and that it’s never too late to learn.

Outside of the gym or the pool you can find him chilling at a good cafe with friends, the beach or the cinema.

Hobbies: Most sports, movies and trying to stay fit (mainly to balance out the pizza and cookies).
